Assessing Arizona’s Economic Competitiveness
in the Global Market

Bruce Wright / UA Associate V.P., University Research Parks
Bruce Wright directs the University of Arizona’s research parks including University of Arizona Science and Technology Park (Tech Park), Arizona Bioscience Park (UA Bio Park) and Arizona Center for Innovation (AzCI). He also is an adjunct instructor, Department of Geography and Regional Development. During his more than 20 years with University of Arizona, he has been Director, Office of Community and Public Service, Assistant to the President, Senior Officer for Community Affairs and Economic Development, and Associate Vice President for Economic Development.

Earlier he was chief-of-staff to U.S. Representative Morris K. Udall, staff consultant to the House Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs, management analyst with the City of Tucson and deputy director of the Commission on Improved Governmental Management.

A member of the International Economic Development Council, National Business Incubator Association, Arizona Association of Economic Development and America-Israel Friendship League, Wright is also a past president of the Association of University Research Parks and serves on the board of directors for the Arizona-Mexico Commission. He is also a member of Southern Arizona Leadership Council and the Governor’s CANAMEX Trade Corridor Task Force. Wright is a graduate of Willamette University where he earned his B.A. with distinction in political science.
