Derrick Hall is President and CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks, the first sports organization to be named a “Best Places to Work” by the Phoenix Business Journal and BestCompaniesAZ for three consecutive years, as well as by PHOENIX magazine. Hall is noted for his development of company culture, his recognition of employee achievements, and his focus on fan experience, performance, community and financial efficiency.
Hall’s background most notably includes 12 seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers where he became Senior Vice President, Communications. Prior to joining the D-backs, Hall made a brief stop as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications for KB Home and is credited for increasing the brand awareness of the nation’s fifth-largest homebuilder.
Hall currently serves on numerous boards, including the Arizona-Mexico Commission and Muscular Dystrophy Association. He has spearheaded campaigns resulting in tens of millions of dollars donated for regional and national charities.
Hall has negotiated a landmark deal to create a new two-team facility that the Colorado Rockies and the D-backs will share in Scottsdale, Arizona for Spring Training operations. The multipurpose 11,000-seat ballpark on 140 scenic acres within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community will be the first U.S. professional sports facility built on Indian land.
Hall received a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and his master’s degree from Ohio University in sports administration. The Phoenix Business Journal named him to its inaugural list of “Most Admired CEOs. |
